Forfar Athletic assistant boss Iain Campbell has stood down from his post after six years due to work commitments.
The former Cowdenbeath and Brechin City striker has been No 2 to twin brother Dick since his appointment to the Station Park hotseat in May 2008.
But boss Campbell has revealed his twin won’t be by his side next year and will be replaced by coach John Young.
“We own a business in Dunfermline and have started two additional companies and with the pressure that brings one of us had to give up something and Iain has reluctantly given up football,” explained Dick.
“Words can’t say how important Iain has been as my assistant since day one. He’s an excellent coach.”
Iain’s departure comes hard on the heels of Dick’s sons Ross and Iain leaving Station Park after playing almost 400 games between them in Loons colours.
Forfar, meanwhile, have retained 12 of last year’s squad including veteran keeper Rab Douglas and former Dundee United defender Darren Dods brought back star winger Danny Denholm and handed professional contracts to three of last year’s youth team.
Campbell admits he’s targeting two midfielders and wants another striker to play alongside captain Gavin Swankie and Chris Templeman.
The Loons’ first match is against Highland League outfit Inverurie Loco Works at Station Park on Tuesday July 8.
