Darren Burnett booked a semi-final place against Greg Harlow in the Co-operative Funeralcare Scottish International Open at the Dewars Centre in Perth.
The policeman from Arbroath won a thrilling encounter against England’s Mark Royal.
Burnett took the opening set 8-5.
An 11-3 second set in favour of Royal set up a tie-break.
The first end went to Burnett, but Mark Royal took the next.
In the third end of the tie-break the length was set by Royal, but his last bowl wasn’t good enough to stop the Scot.
Greg Harlow was in dominant form at the start of his quarter-final against Jonathan Ross, taking the first set 10-1.
Ross fought back to take the second set 9-3.
However, there was no need for a decider in the tie-break, with Greg Harlow taking the first two ends to earn his semi-final place.
Meanwhile, Ayrshire’s Stewart Anderson had the measure of Andy Thomson.
After taking the opening set 9-4 he moved into an early lead in the second set and went on to win it 13-3.
The last-four line-up is completed by Jason Greenslade.
He had an 11-6, 8-4 victory over Les Gillett.
