Dozens of customers have been left out of pocket after a popular Dundee hydrotherapy centre closed down.

Customers of Marketgait-based Clearwater Hydrotherapy were informed on Tuesday night that the business has shut its doors for good.

A post on the company’s Facebook page said: “We regret to inform you that the centre will no longer be in operation as of today.

“This is due to circumstances outwith our control and we will issue a full statement in due course.”

The business was founded by Chris and Leanne Morris who decided to create a chlorine-free pool after their daughter was diagnosed with bronchitis.

As well as a warm water pool, it also offered float beds and a hydro jet massage bed.

The pool ran popular parent and toddler swimming classes.Have you been affected by the closure? Please phone 01382 575930 or email reporters@thecourier.co.ukSeveral customers took to Facebook to complain they would be left out of pocket after pre-booking sessions.

Adele Melville posted: “Can you tell us what will happen about monies we have already paid you?

“Find it particularly shocking that this was not mentioned when we were in yesterday when you must of had some idea this was happening.”

However, other customers said they were sad at the firm’s closure.

Carol Suzanne Thomson said: “Sorry to hear this news, it is a blow for a lot of customers who loved your facilities and I’m disappointed to hear I can no longer book my baby in for the infant swim/bonding lessons that I intended to do when she is born very soon.

“You had a unique business unlike any other in the area and it’s very sad to hear of your closure.”

Nobody from Clearwater was available for comment.
