Dundee women are being urged to start a health kick by signing up for the Race for Life.

The fundraising event for Cancer Research UK is calling on women of all ages and abilities to start training for either a 5K or 10K race.

Taking place at Camperdown Park on Sunday June 21, the Race for Life is one of the charity’s biggest fundraising events.

Last year almost 46,000 women took part in Race for Life events across Scotland and raised £2.9 million.

The Dundee 10K is at 9.30am and the 5K race starts at 11am.

Lisa Adams, Cancer Research UK’s spokeswoman in Scotland, said: “With the arrival of lighter evenings, there’s no better time to enjoy the great outdoors, get a bit fitter and limber up for Race for Life.

“Whether you choose to walk, jog or charge around the course, you’ll be joining an army of women united in the battle against cancer.

“Race for Life events are not about being fit or fast. It’s about an army of women crossing the finish line together in the fight against cancer.”
