VIDEO: The Courier hitches a ride with Singing Dundee taxi driver ‘Jimmy Bubl’

There may be a more famous singing taxi driver in Dundee, but we just haven’t met him yet.

Jimmy Smart has become an internet sensation after his punters showed some Crazy Love for him online.

Fans of the 53-year-old have been getting in touch from as far afield as Australia after The Courier unveiled his unique talents.

A video of him belting out a Frank Sinatra song has been viewed almost 20,000 times in just three days, earning him the nickname “Jimmy Bubl” after Canadian crooner, Michael Bubl.

I’d watched the video but nothing could have prepared me for my own personal concert by the Singing Taxi Driver.

A natural and gifted performer, Jimmy got stuck into his favourite Michael Bubl song within seconds of us hitting the road.

As we drove along the Kingsway, he showcased his talents with this energetic version of Just Haven’t Met You Yet.

He may be crooning at karaoke competitions in Dundee’s bars now, but the Singing Taxi Driver is surely destined for bigger things.
