Hunt for missing Allan Bryant hijacked with chilling video threat

The hunt for missing Fife man Allan Bryant has been hijacked by a chilling video threat.

A video threatening Police Scotland, who have been leading the search for Allan for two and a half years, has been uploaded to YouTube.

It purports to come from global hacktivists Anonymous, warning Police Scotland in general and Glenrothes HQ in particular, that they will initiate their own justice “against you and your officers” if the force does not do more to have the culprits who may have harmed Allan brought to justice.

In a disguised voice, the short film – which can be seen here – tells the force: “We are aware of your lack of cooperation with the family of missing man Allan Bryant Junior.

“As civil servants, it is your responsibility to serve the needs of your public.

“All you have done is failed the Bryant family.”

Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the circumstances behind the apparent online threat.

A spokesperson said: “Police in Fife have been made aware of a communication that suggests reprisals towards officers in Glenrothes.

“The safety of the public and our officers is an absolute priority.

“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this and respond appropriately.”

Allan was last seen in the early hours of Sunday November 3 leaving Styx nightclub in Glenrothes.

Since then a massive search has continued for the young man.

The father of Allan Bryant condemned those behind the threat to the police.

And Allan Bryant Senior is convinced it was not the work of the real Anonymous, but of someone “with too much time on their hands” and their own gripe against the police who has hijacked the family’s heartfelt campaign to find out what has happened to their much missed son.
