Ford 7810 Silver Jubilee: tractor with crowd-pulling power
ByThe Courier Reporter
The refurbished Ford 7810 Silver Jubilee will return to the New Holland stand this year, where it first appeared 25 years ago.
At the Royal Highland Show at Ingliston an anniversary will be celebrated on the New Holland stand.
To celebrate 50 years since the opening of the Basildon plant in 1964 a restored Ford 5000 will be on display.
Everybody loves special edition tractors that mark milestones, and New Holland have turned out one of their new 7.270 tractors in a gold colour scheme to mark the occasion.
As if two special tractors were not enough, pride of place goes to a 1989 Ford 7810 Silver Jubilee model which was turned out in a striking silver livery to mark 25 years of production at Basildon. These tractors have now garnered an iconic status after being rather unpopular following their launch in 1989.
Indeed, their first public outing was at the Highland Show in June 1989, and New Holland have secured the very tractor that appeared on the stand 25 years ago.
The tractor spent its life in Ayrshire and has recently undergone a complete refurbishment.
