The Stone Roses to headline T in the Park 2012? Scottish punters have already started the speculation after the Manchester heroes announced a reconciliation and reformation on Wednesday.

With websites crashing within minutes this morning as fans rushed to try to buy tickets for the reunion shows that have been announced, could T in the Park crowds have the chance of seeing them at Balado?

Who knows? But with Glastonbury taking a break next year, T in the Park is arguably the next biggest UK platform for Ian Brown & Co., and it would be a massive coup for Scotland.

DF Concerts won’t say either way but, then again, the T in the Park organisers aren’t announcing any bands at all for next year’s festival at Balado as they put the second batch of tickets going on sale before Christmas.

The good news for fans, though, is that the prices have been held at 2011 rates for the 19th T, which should make for a few special stocking fillers.

A limited number of tickets will be up for grabs from 9am on December 2, although T Lady subscribers and Vodaphone VIP customers can buy tickets 48 hours before that, from 8am on November 30.

Although no acts will be officially announced before the launch in February, no doubt festival director Geoff Ellis and his team are already working to secure top acts for T in the Park, which takes place from Friday July 6 until Sunday July 8.

Mr Ellis said: ”Plans for 2012 are already well under way here and once again we are securing some of the finest acts on the planet to perform before the world’s most passionate music fans. The time is now to secure tickets to the 2012 festival.”

DF Concerts urge people to buy only from official outlets listed on their website (link).
