It was all smiles in Kirkcaldy as the launch of the town”s annual comedy festival took place.
Popular Scottish comedian Des Clarke was at the unveiling of the line-up in the Mercat Shopping Centre with the 10-day festival set to take place from Friday, September 24 to Sunday, October 3.
Now in its third year, the event has become a focal point on the British comedy circuit. Organisers will be hoping to increase on the 2000 people who attended gigs in 2009. The all-star line-up includes Rhona Cameron, Fred MacAuley and Danny Bhoy.
Clarke is extremely excited to be returning to the Kirkcaldy stage and he said, “As a comedian you perform in places like Edinburgh and Glasgow a lot but you kinda get the feeling that they maybe get too much comedy. But this is a line-up that would grace any festival in the world.”
The Kirkcaldy business improvemnt district (BID) team have organised the festival once again. BID manager Sunil Varu said, “The festival is well established on the circuit.
“We are delighted with the quality of performers and are pleased that the festival has been given flagship status as part of a Celebration of Fife 2010.”
