A Perthshire housebuilder hopes its new base in Dundee will be a springboard into new opportunities on the east coast.
AGB Scotland, a luxury bespoke home builder and contractor based in Bankfoot, has opened new premises in the McGill Business Centre in the city’s Harrison Road.
The new premises are part of the firm’s strategy of sustainable and organic growth, which includes greater involvement in the commercial sector and complements the company’s existing construction team based in the city.
The firm, founded in 2003 which has an extensive portfolio of high-end property projects describes Dundee as a “strategically good base in a city that has a lot happening.”
It hopes the new facility will allow “rapid expansion” and help build closer relationships with architects, clients and surveyors on the east coast and Dundee in the area.
Commercial manager Billy Ferguson, said: “The opening of our Dundee office comes on the back of a solid trading performance this year, the culmination of the delivery of a strong portfolio of builds.
“The new premises will enable AGB to further our relationships and extend our operations to serve clients, surveyors and specifiers in Dundee, the east coast and East Neuk without compromising existing activities.
“We have a robust order book for next year which reflects the level of confidence clients and specifiers have in our team, ethos, processes and attention to detail.”
AGB Scotland sees the high-end commercial sector as a key area of potential growth and the firm is currently in negotiations on a number of substantial commercial projects, having already delivered an extension to the iconic retail and food outlet, House of Bruar.
Mr Ferguson added: “We currently undertake projects for commercial clients, however we are less well known for that aspect of business operation.
“We will leverage our reputation for customer service, high quality workmanship and attention to detail to win more business across Tayside and the east coast as the right opportunities occur in the retail, commercial, hospitality and agricultural sectors.”
The firm also has an in-house joinery workshop at Bankfoot where the team constructs bespoke items of furniture, staircases, doors and detailing to clients’ and architects’ requirements.
It is also about to undertake a recruitment programme for joiners.
