Scotland’s longest running mountain film festival is back for its 34th year.
Dundee Mountain Film Festival runs from Thursday to Saturday and features speakers, films and exhibitions from all over the world.
Thursday’s speaker, quadruple amputee Jamie Andrew, has made some amazing ascents since losing his hands and feet after being stranded in an Alpine storm in 1999. Friday’s speaker is Fifer Greg Boswell, who specialises in cold weather climbing.
The festival closes with Andy Kirkpatrick. The 45-year old big wall climber has summited Yosemite’s El Capitan 24 times and made the first ascent up the south ridge of Ulvertanna in Antarctica, spending two weeks at below -30. Not long after, with frostbitten toes, he led TV presenter Alex Jones up Moonlight Buttress in Zion for Sport Relief.
