Ford has unveiled a special edition Mustang to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the movie that made the car famous.
The Mustang Bullitt edition marks a half century since the Steve McQueen epic hit cinemas.
Bullitt was, of course, known for one of the best car chase scenes in cinematic history – with an original Mustang tearing round the streets of San Francisco for 10 full minutes of the film. The special edition gets 475bhp out of its 5.0-litre V8, up from the standard Mustang’s 444bhp.
Top speed is up from 155mph to 168mph. It comes with two-tone green and gunmetal paint to match its movie counterpart. In related news, the Mustang McQueen drove in Bullitt has been found after disappearing 40 years ago. It’s set for a restoration and is likely to go for millions at auction.
