Stretches of the A90 between Dundee and Stonehaven have reopened after a three-day closure caused by Storm Babet.
The dual carriageway shut on Thursday night as severe floods hit several parts of the route.
However, Amey said early on Monday that the road had reopened in both directions south of Forfar and north of Brechin.
The A90 remains shut between the two Angus towns as Amey has been unable to work on two bridges by Finavon.
A statement said: “Two high-risk structures near Finavon are still outstanding as the water level and flow rate at this location are still too severe to allow any work to take place.
“The current speed and water levels are too high to allow divers to safely undertake investigations to assess the integrity of the structure.”
No official diversion between Forfar and Brechin
No official diversion is in place for drivers travelling between Forfar and Brechin.
Some drivers have hit out at the lack of information.
But Traffic Scotland posted: “No official diversion route has been provided by us because we only provide a diversion if there is an alternative trunk route available which is suitable for all vehicles.
“There are some non-trunk route closures in the area which have made this not possible at this time.”
It added:” If you must travel in this area today, the best trunk routes available are A96/A95/A9 – but it is a long diversion which is why we’re telling people to look at council for other options.”
Elsewhere, the A92 in north-east Fife has reopened under temporary traffic lights.
