The family of missing Glenrothes man Allan Bryant Jnr took to the hills for a sponsored walk on Sunday as they aim to keep their loved one in the public eye – just days before the fourth anniversary of his disappearance.

The sun shone as friends and volunteers joined relatives for the trek up Falkland Hill, with money raised going towards a reward and the continuing efforts to trace Allan, who was just 23 when he vanished after leaving Styx nightclub in Glenrothes on November 3, 2013.

Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team say they are still working on the case and are continuing to receive phone calls in connection with the probe.

It also emerged last week that 31 new sites – predominantly wells and other waterways – had been searched by police divers, to no avail.

Allan Bryant Snr, whose wife Marie and two daughters Amy and Sophie took part in the walk, admitted that it was a tough time for the family as yet another anniversary approaches on Friday.

“Allan went missing on a Saturday so the weekend always seems to be the hardest for us all,” he said.

“It is not a matter of keeping strong, it is a fight to remain sane as these things are happening for our son Allan.

“This is just the start of things to come this week and things are getting harder and harder as November gets nearer.

“Keeping Allan in the public eye and raising funds is difficult, but so many people have been kind to us.

“It really does mean so much to me and my family.”
