A visitor centre at Camperdown Park is on track to welcome the first people through its doors next month.
Costing around £1 million, the attraction, scheduled to open on February 12, replaces the wildlife centre and will be almost three times the size.
Included in the designs are a cafe with a patio and large glass walls, offering panoramic views.
In addition a reception and gift area are planned, as well as a multi-use learning room with computer connections, cinema-style projector and interactive white board.
The room, which can be hired for private functions, will offer a variety of themed lessons, slide shows and presentations.
In 2009 the city council’s development quality committee gave the green light to the project, allowing demolition of the former entrance building and replacing it with the new structure.
The wildlife centre has suffered dwindling visitor numbers in recent years and last month it was revealed it faces a six-figure annual deficit.
Visitor numbers for last year dropped to 52,000, but a council spokesman yesterday said the centre had been closed to the public from January through to the end of March for a water and electrical upgrade.
