A local sporting sensation has proved what a smashing lad he is by taking part in a mammoth badminton tournament to raise money for charity.
Niall Jarvie took to the courts at Bell’s Sports Centre in Perth for 12 hours to play against friends and colleagues.
Although the 24-year-old from Crieff is a member of the Scottish Physical Disability National Squad, this is the biggest challenge he has faced yet.
Sporting bright pink hair, he braved pain and exhaustion to complete the event last Monday, after just five minutes’ respite for each hour he was playing.
Niall hopes he will inspire others to support his cause and boost the fund-raising total.
He aims to raise £500 for Cancer Research as several members of his family have suffered from the disease.
He said, “It was a long and extremely tiring day for me, but I really enjoyed the challenge as it was for a good cause.”
Friends and family have already helped the internationalist to reach just over a quarter of his target, as well as leaving messages of support in a bid to keep him going throughout the day.
