The man killed in a car crash outside Arbroath on Friday has been named by police.
Newlywed Colin Taylor, 59, was driving near Leysmill junction when he was killed instantly in a head-on collision at 3.15pm.
His wife Julie was sat in the back seat and sustained multiple fractures to her legs and arms.
She is still receiving treatment at Ninewells Hospital and her condition is described as critical but stable.
The couple, from Stonehaven, had married at the town’s golf club on September 5.
Mr Taylor had lived most of his life in Stonehaven, where he worked for the Post Office and as a bar manager before he set up a joinery and plumbing business.
Mrs Taylor is a manager in Aberdeen with Penumbra, which helps people with mental health issues.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland’s Tayside Division said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 59-year old man, who sadly died following a fatal road traffic collision on the A933 Brechin to Arbroath Road on Friday, October 31, has been formally identified.
“He has been named as Colin Taylor of Stonehaven.”
The 41-year-old driver of the other car, a black Audi A6, was also taken to Ninewells and is receiving treatment for a serious shoulder injury.
The police spokeswoman added: “A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.
“Enquiries into the full set of circumstances are continuing and anyone who has information that could assist officers with their enquiries should contact Police Scotland on 101.”
