Two Angus Council waste services staff suspended on full pay

Two Angus Council employees are off work on full pay after being suspended from posts in waste services.

The two people involved live together in Forfar. The man has a supervisory role in the department and his female partner is a refuse collector, normally employed on the bin lorries.

Colleagues have been interviewed but the council is not revealing the circumstances surrounding the suspensions and the investigation.

A council employee said: “It is very hush-hush. Quite a few people have been taken in and asked questions but nobody knows exactly what is going on.”

A council spokeswoman said: “The council does not comment on personnel matters.”
