A full rescue operation was scrambled last night after a man was spotted in the water at Montrose.
He was pulled out of the water by two Coastguard officers after the alarm was raised following a 999 call to Aberdeen Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre around 8.30pm.
The 27-year-old man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Carseview Centre at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
Montrose Coastguard Rescue Team were on station at the time for a training session and were tasked along with the Montrose Lifeboat and an RAF search and rescue helicopter.
All other units were stood down after the man was recovered following the snatch water rescue.
