Thousands of people flocked to Angus at the weekend for the Montrose MoFest live music extravaganza.
The festival, in its seventh year, kicked off on Friday evening with a sold-out performance by legendary rock band Status Quo.
The town centre was closed on Saturday as 20 acts, ranging from hip-hop dancers to rock bands, performed on a stage on Montrose High Street.
The live music continued on Saturday evening as locations across the town were taken over by musicians from across Britain, including former Seahorses singer Chris Helme who performed at the Park Hotel.
Unfortunately a problem with the electrical supply caused by rain on Sunday morning led to a delay to the youth festival.
Instead of performing on the main stage as planned, the youngsters performed in front of the stage with smaller amps before power to the main stage was restored in the afternoon.
Festival chairman David Paton said he was delighted with the response to the weekend.
He said: “It’s amazing that a small town like Montrose was able to attract such a major act in Status Quo.
“The whole town is talking about the gig and it sounds like everyone had a great night.
“We were very fortunate with the weather on Saturday, which helped to bring the crowds out. The town was mobbed.
“The High Street event gave bands a chance to perform a snippet of their full act, before performing their full act in pubs later that night.”
Montrose councillor Paul Valentine, who performed with his band Mimsy at the festival, said: “The atmosphere in the town has been fantastic.
“It’s great to have an event that attracts so many visitors to Montrose and to see so many happy people in the town.”
