Mediums and paranormal investigators are planning a ghost hunt at Arbroath’s Webster Theatre.
A live Victorian seance will take place on a stage that has been graced by the likes of Sir Harry Lauder.
The team will also try to contact ghosts using a ouija board, pendulum and through electromagnetic field meters and electronic voice phenomena equipment.
The ghost hunters will invite people to take part in lone vigils and group experiments at the historic Angus venue on July 25 at 9pm.
Afterdark Paranormal Investigators say staff and performers at the Webster Theatre have long reported strange sights and sounds.
There have been reports of seats being moved in the auditorium and actors on the stage have also been said to feel uneasy as if someone is up there beside them.
It is the second time such an event has taken place at the theatre, which was gifted to Arbroath shortly after the First World War by Sir Francis Webster and his brothers William and James.
The hall was to act as a memorial to Sir Francis’s son, Lieutenant Joseph F Webster, killed in action at Zaandvoorde Ridge in 1914.
The previous ghost hunt in March apparently uncovered strange white lights, which investigators say was evidence of a spirit.
An Afterdark Paranormal Investigations spokesman said: “The walk round will consist of a tour of the location with one of Afterdark’s mediums or a guest medium who we will bring with us for this event.
“The aim is to allow the medium to channel information from spirits and give us any information on any spiritual presences.
“The event will include various vigils and experiments which everyone will have the opportunity to participate in if they would like too, these will include lone vigils, ouija board experiments, humanpendulum experiments, EMF experiments, EVP experiments and more.”
Sir Harry Lauder, Jimmy Tarbuck, the Drifters and Charlie Landsborough have previously performed at the venue.
Afterdark is a company run out of Mains Castle in Dundee and its investigators travel all over the UK to investigate ghostly phenomena.
They say there are no actors or tricks connected to any of its events and everything people feel or experience is “genuine paranormal activity”.
Paranormal investigators last year said they found spooky goings-on at a Mearns museum.
Afterdark picked the Tolbooth Museum in Stonehaven for its historical connections with the darker side of the town’s past.
Many of the group said they felt discomfort during the evening, including a drop in temperature, minor physical assaults and feelings of dizziness or breathing problems.
