A man has found himself on a similar good behaviour order to his ex-partner after an incident at her mother’s home.
Matthew Seymour went there demanding money he said his girlfriend owed him after their relationship broke down, but became abusive as she hid from him inside the house.
At Forfar Sheriff Court yesterday, Seymour admitted repeatedly shouting and swearing at Nursery Park, Brechin, on May 13 in an offence involving his 26-year-old partner of 10 years.
Depute fiscal Hazel Anderson told the court that at the time of the offence, the complainer was on bail in relation to an alleged incident involving the accused and the incident which led to Seymour appearing in court happened around 5pm at her mother’s house.
The court heard 29-year-old Seymour, of River Street, Brechin, was seen walking towards the property, knocked on the door and was told that his girlfriend did not want to speak to him.
She was hiding in the bathroom and Seymour started to shout through the door, demanding money he said she owed him.
He then left the property, but came back a couple of hours later and was shouting outside, and that was when police were called.
Defence agent Bob Bruce said: “The complainer had two charges in relation to matters against the accused and sentence has been deferred on her for good behaviour for six months,” said Mr Bruce.
“The parties now appear to be dealing with things in a sensible way,” he added.
Sheriff Pino Di Emidio noted Seymour was a first offender and placed him on a six-month good behaviour order.
