A twin engine light aircraft has made an emergency landing in the Mearns.
The plane landed in a field north of Stonehaven town at around 3.45pm on Wednesday and the male pilot is not believed to have been seriously injured.
Around 40 fire fighters from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at the scene. It is believed the aircraft was heading for Aberdeen International Airport when the incident took place.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “A twin engine light aircraft has made an emergency landing with one male on board.”
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said the pilot complained of a sore back.
An Army Apache helicopter made a controlled landing just a few miles away at Sunnyside Home Farm at around noon on Monday.
The £10m aircraft is set to be moved “by the end of the week”.
