Men appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on petitions alleging assaults

Forfar Sheriff Court.
William McBain, 54, no fixed abode, appeared in private before Sheriff Gregor Murray at Forfar on a petition alleging assault with intent to rob and possession of a knife in Montrose on May 8.
He made no plea or declaration and was fully committed.
McBain was remanded in custody.
Lloyd David George Cox, 20, of Erskine Street, Dundee, appeared on a separate petition alleging assault to severe injury at a lodge at Piperdam Golf and Leisure Resort on Sunday.
The petition also alleges perverting the course of justice, struggling with on-duty police officers and a breach of the peace.
Cox made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination. He was granted bail.
