Two new Co-operative food stores in Carnoustie and Monifieth will open on Thursday, bringing 30 new jobs to Tayside.
The shops in Barry Road in Carnoustie and Mortimer Drive, Monifieth, will be opened by local primary schoolchildren.
Both convenience stores will be around 2,000 sq ft, with in-store bakeries and customer car parks.
The Monifieth branch will also have a cash machine.
Regional operations manager John Kelly said: “We know residents in both Carnoustie and Monifieth are passionate about their food, and our new Co-operative food stores will certainly reflect this.
“We are thrilled to be opening the doors of our new stores, and as a community retailer we are delighted that our neighbouring schools are playing a central role in the openings.”
The Monifieth store will be opened by youngsters from Grange Primary School and Seaview Primary School, while pupils from Woodlands, Burnside and Carlogie Primary Schools will help open the Carnoustie store.
Both shops will be open from 6am until 11pm every day.
