He was taken to hospital as a precaution suffering from a burn to his hand and smoke inhalation following Thursday night’s blaze. The blaze broke out in a first-floor flat above Tan Studio around 9.45pm and the street was closed off while emergency services attended. Another resident in the block took ill at the scene as the drama unfolded and was also checked over by paramedics. Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hosereel to extinguish the fire which started in the livingroom. Crews remained at the scene afterwards involved in damping down and ventilation.
