Angus brothers performed for Arnold Schwarzenegger when the star made a rare appearance in Scotland.

Carnoustie piper Craig Weir was accompanied by his younger brother Paul on the drums as Arnie took to the stage to answer questions from fans at the EICC in Edinburgh.

Fans paid up to £1,500 for the chance to see The Governator in person at the black-tie event.

Craig and Paul managed to have their picture taken with the A-list actor afterwards.

Craig, 22, said: “The opportunity to welcome Arnold to Scotland for the first time was incredible and very surreal.

“He was very kind to us and was excited to hear the bagpipes played live in Scotland.”

Paul, 18, added: “It was a real honour to play such a big name into Scotland. A real proud moment and something I’ll never forget.”

It was the start of a busy period of performances for Craig, who also plays as a member of the Celtic rock group Gleadhraich.

He joined the rock band The Libertines on stage on Friday at the SSE Hydro, performing Flower of Scotland as they walked on stage

Gleadhraich travelled to the Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling, to provide support on the For The Love Of Eilidh IV charity concert in aid of the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund, which is building a respite holiday home for young people and their families fighting cancer.

Also on the bill were Fife’s The Voice winner Stevie McCrorie, The Fratellis and the cast of BBC Scotland comedy Still Game.

Craig said: “I’ve met with and played for a lot of big names in the last few years, but this week has been extra special because of the short space of time in which these gigs have occurred.

“It’s provided a stunning start to 2016 for me and my band.”

Craig recently played six dates with the Bay City Rollers and he has previously played with Queen at the SSE Hydro.

And Craig is no stranger to playing for VIPs as he composed a tune for and played it to the Dalai Lama when he visited Dundee in June 2012.
