Police officers across Angus will soon be getting on their bikes.
Area commander Chief Inspector Gordon Milne and some of his colleagues visited the Outdoor Store in Forfar to pick up their new method of transport. The aim is to get officers out of their cars and closer to the public.
Mr Milne said: “It fits in well with Police Scotland’s ethos of community policing.
“People want to see officers out and about and officers don’t want to always be rushing from call to call. This is a great opportunity to get in amongst the community.
“Kids in particular love it because they get to talk to someone on a brand new, shiny bike rather than through a vehicle window. It helps our guys to keep fit too.”
The bikes will be used mostly by community policing officers and for tackling crimes, such as anti-social behaviour, in places where it might be difficult for cars to reach.
The force expects to have more than 30 people trained and ready to ride within the next few weeks.
