Angus nursery school children will be able to learn their letters in comfort, thanks to a little kindness.
The group at Whitehills Primary School in Forfar can pursue important reading activities in comfort, after Forfar Resource Store and a pet shop donated a sofa and fish tank.
Nursery teacher Janice Leimanczik told The Courier her young charges are very appreciative of having a place to enjoy a quiet read.
She said: “As part of the Curriculum for Excellence, it’s important to improve children’s literacy at as early an age as possible.
“To do that, it’s best to have the youngest children as comfortable as possible.
“We thought about where best to sit the kids down for a story hour and we didn’t have anything that comfortable.
“That’s when Forfar Resource Store came and offered us a sofa, which was great of them.
“One of our parents works at Pets at Home and her employers offered us a fish tank as well.”
