Four sheep have been killed and another 15 injured in a dog attack in Angus.
The attack thought to have involved a Staffordshire bull terrier happened at around 12.30pm on Tuesday in a field at Newbarns Farm, Inverkeilor.
Police say the dog was seen by passers-by in the field and it appears one of them restrained the dog before the farmer arrived on the scene.
He then took control of the dog and passed it to police officers when they arrived.
Police are trying to trace the dog’s owner and the group of people who were in the area at the time.
The dog is described as being dark brown and large and powerful.
