Playpark ban for Brechin teenager who is subject of Risk of Sexual Harm Order

An Angus teenager who is the subject of a sex offences order has been banned from going near a local playpark after denying chasing young girls there.
Craig Gordon (17), of Brechin, appeared from custody before Sheriff Kevin Veal at Forfar on Monday where he denied going into the park near the town’s high school and purposely chasing females under 16 there.
The offence is alleged to have taken place on March 1 in the park adjacent to the secondary, in contravention of a Risk of Sexual Harm Order granted earlier this year in terms of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
The terms of the order includes specific conditions which prohibit Gordon from staying in accommodation other than that approved by the chief constable; touching or communicating with any female under the age of 16 and entering a school, nursery or other building used for pre-school primary or secondary education purposes without approval.
It also bans Gordon from children’s play areas or leisure facilities without prior chief constable’s approval.
Trial was set for April 17.
