Patch-up job may not be enough to save Dundee’s Christmas tree

Dundee’s city centre Christmas tree, which had to have extra branches nailed on to it after criticism of its “threadbare” state, is likely to have to be replaced after some of the additions fell off at the weekend.
Large branches were seen to have fallen to the ground on Sunday.
A passerby said he was told by the workmen that the tree would be replaced today.
Lord Provost Bob Duncan said: “I was disappointed when I saw it at first and I’m surprised they went ahead and put it up in the first place.”
