Shoppers in Dundee were looking skyward as the city’s Christmas decorations were strung up along Reform Street.
The festive lights brought delight and bemusement in equal measure as people watched the lights go up on Tuesday 67 days before Christmas Day.
Although the autumn leaves are barely falling on the ground, Dundee’s festive preparations are already in full swing to ensure that all will be ready for the official lights switch-on.
A spokeswoman for the city council said, “Work started this month putting up the Christmas decorations in the city centre as it takes several weeks to do so in time for the official switch-on, which is November 19.”
This year Dundee will be illuminated by more than £200,000 worth of lights and decorations across various parts of the city.
A 14-metre artificial tree will adorn City Square, alongside bows and spirals on the Caird Hall columns, and cone trees on top of lamp-posts.
