A man has suffered injuries in a savage gang attack in Dundee.
Police say a group of around 10 young teenagers chased the 48-year-old through the streets before attacking him with sticks. He suffered facial injuries and broken ribs in the brutal Friday night assault in the St Mary’s area.
The victim was treated at Ninewell Hospital and is now recovering at home.
A police spokesman said: “This was a particularly nasty assault and the police are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify those involved.”
The attack happened after the youths, thought to be aged between 13 and 15, started harassing the man near the St Kilda Road playpark at around 9.30 on Friday night.
The youths then chased their victim east through side streets before catching up with him in St Fillans Road. They then subjected him to the vicious beating.
The man, who is bald, was wearing a black zip-up top and jeans. Anyone who saw him being chased or assaulted, or who has any information, is asked to contact Tayside Police urgently on 0300 111 2222 or speak to any officer.
