A milestone in the central waterfront road network will be reached next week.
The final section of the North Boulevard will open on Monday as part of the £11 million scheme to redevelop the waterfront’s streets.
Once the work has been finished, traffic travelling east from Riverside Drive will make a right turn at a new traffic-light controlled junction at the Malmaison, while drivers heading to Perth will be unaffected.
To tie in with the existing route and lay the final road surface a section of the South Marketgait eastbound carriageway will be closed from 6am on Saturday to 6am on Monday.
Alternative routes avoiding the eastbound closure between Yeaman Shore and the train station will be indicated via the inner ring road.
The opening of the carriageway will allow the contractors to focus on construction elsewhere at the site, including the new public open space and adjacent side roads.
Work on the grid pattern of streets is due to be completed by the end of next year.
