Police officers in court to deny assaulting hostel worker

Two serving police officers accused of assaulting a Dundee hostel employee by handcuffing her to a window and wrapping Sellotape round her head have appeared in court.
George Stewart (35) and Shirley Tindal (39) both deny that, while on duty as police constables on July 20 last year at East Port Bail Hostel, King Street, they assaulted Arlene Pattie, an employee there, handcuffed her arms to a window, wrapped tape around her head and caused her breathing to be restricted, all to her injury.
Sheriff Richard Davidson fixed dates for a two-day trial on November 2 and 3, with an intermediate hearing on October 12.
