Menzieshill residents could be given a say on what should be built on land that used to be occupied by five multi-storey blocks.
Dundee City Council’s city development committee will meet on Monday and will be asked to approve a draft planning brief for the site.
If that happens as expected, then residents and businesses will be consulted.
Committee convener Will Dawson said, “The area is identified in the local plan as suburban, which means the development of houses is encouraged.
“At least three-quarters of any new homes at the site would be required to have three bedrooms or more, so we would really be looking for a developer to be putting up a mix of detached, semi-detached or terraced buildings.”
However, a report by the council director Mike Galloway, said “architectural innovation” will be needed.
