Dundee schools might be over the worst of the scarlet fever outbreak, although the education authority is still on the alert for new cases.
Six schools were hit by the disease in the past few weeks, with five primaries and one secondary notifying parents to be on the lookout.
Education convener Stewart Hunter said that with no new cases since last week the council hoped it was past the worst.
He said: “What we are trying to say to parents is that obviously if they do see something they should contact the school as soon as they are aware.”
He added: “As soon as we knew (about the outbreak), we put the correct procedures in place at schools and they are watching for scarlet fever at the moment.
“We always advise that if parents have any concerns they should get their child to a doctor and make sure schools are aware of the issue.”
