Emergency services rescued a trapped driver from a car after a crash on Dundee’s Strathmartine Road.
The incident, which occurred shortly after 9am on Saturday, resulted in one motorist having to be cut out of her car by fire fighters using specialist equipment.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson confirmed: “We received a call at 9:35am to report a road traffic accident involving two vehicles on Strathmartine Road.
“One person was trapped in her car and had to be removed by using cutting gear.
“The person we removed was then taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.”
The accident happened directly across from Strathmartine Parish Church.
A local resident who reported hearing “a bang” said: “I live just around the corner and heard the crash.
“It wasn’t particularly loud, but I went up to see what had happened and saw lots of police and emergency service vehicles surrounding a car on its roof.
“I know the road was quite icy and I saw gritters out earlier, but I don’t know how the car would have ended up on its roof.”
