Acting and performance students to bring Dickensian theme to Christmas Light Night
ByNews reporter
People who decide to enjoy the Christmas Light Night in Dundee city centre on November 25 shouldn’t be surprised if they bump into some characters from Dickens.
Around 30 Dundee College HNC acting and performance students are donning costumes reminiscent of A Christmas Carol and Pickwick Papers as they perform and sing in locations in the city.
As well as performing carols, the students, some of them as rich Victorians and others as street urchins, will interact with their audiences, with Dickensian wit in the style of Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Mr Wardle and Tiny Tim.
The students have spent the past few weeks rehearsing and preparing themselves for some improvised banter with passers-by.
The Christmas Light Night runs from 6-9pm in city hubs including the Wellgate, the Overgate, The McManus and Sensation.
