Severe flood damage has caused a safety risk at Trottick Ponds in Dundee, which will cost £20,000 to repair.
The council’s environment committee is being asked to approve the emergency safety works to a section of walkway that collapsed around the popular water feature.
Work will include restoring sections of the footpath and installing a stone-filled gabion retaining wall at the outfall of the Dighty Burn.
Craig Melville, the council’s environment convener, said: “Trottick Ponds local nature reserve is a Green Flag winner for the high standards it maintains.
“It is a popular place for people to get out and enjoy a clean and green space in their neighbourhood. I am keen that we can get this work carried out as quickly as possible to reduce any risks.
“With spring just around the corner, I am sure that people will be keen to get out and do some exploring at Trottick Ponds.”
