The crash happened on Dundee Road, Broughty Ferry.
Dundee City Council is to reduce speed limits on three stretches of road.
The limit on Dundee Road, Dalhousie Road and Monifieth Road will be brought down to 30mph, while on Coupar Angus Road and Riverside Drive the maximum speed will be 40mph.
City development committee convener Will Dawson said: “These three stretches of road have all been the subject of close inspection and unanimous agreement that we should reduce the speed limits on each one of them.
“The lower limits will make a significant difference to the quality of life of the people who live, work and travel through these areas, and I am sure they will welcome the action the council has taken.”
On Thursday, the existing 40mph signs will be removed on the A930 Dundee Road in Broughty Ferry between Margaret Crescent and Ellieslea Road and 30mph signs put up.
Next week, the existing 50mph limit on A85 Riverside Drive will come down on Monday to 40mph, while the 50mph signs on the A923 Coupar Angus Road will be replaced with 40mph signs on Wednesday.
