Woman ‘critical but stable’ after crash near Cowdenbeath

A woman seriously injured in a road accident in Fife remained in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
The 36-year-old from Crossgates was airlifted to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after her people carrier collided with an articulated lorry on Saturday morning.
Her four-year-old daughter who was in the car with her was uninjured.
The crash happened on the A909 on the outskirts of Cowdenbeath, near the Mossmorran petrochemical plant.
The people carrier was extensively damaged and the woman sustained serious traumatic injuries and was due to undergo surgery on Monday.
An air ambulance, a rapid response crew, two ambulances and two fire engines attended the accident which closed the road for several hours.
Police have appealed for witnesses.
