An unattended car went for an unusual car wash in Cupar on Monday afternoon when it rolled down a hill, smashed through a fence and ended up partially in the River Eden.
The dramatic incident happened on a sliproad which runs downhill between Millgate and South Bridge.
Passers-by on South Bridge were amazed to see the car which was left hanging precariously over the river. Thankfully no one was walking on the riverside footpath when the car came crashing down.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “It appears someone left the handbrake off or partially off. The car ran down the hill and into the river. No one was in the car. There were no injuries.”
