Motorcyclist in hospital after crash on A92

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital last night after an accident on the A92 in Glenrothes.

The man was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after a collision with a car at 7.50pm.

The extent of his injuries was not known at the time of going to press.

The crash happened at the notorious Balfarg junction, which has been the subject of a long-running campaign to have it upgraded. Calls for action were rejected despite a number of accidents there in recent years.

The road was closed for over three hours while police carried out investigations.

Diversions were in place.
