The father of missing Glenrothes man Allan Bryant has renewed family appeals for his safe return.

Allan snr described his disappearance as out of character.

Mr Bryant, 47, appealed for the public’s help in tracing the 23-year-old, who was last seen on CCTV outside the town’s Styx nightclub in Caskieberran Road just after 2am on Sunday.

The Police Scotland search helicopter was brought in on Thursday to scour the region.

Mr Bryant said: “We want to find out where he is because his family is worried about him.

“I saw him at about half eight on Saturday night when he was going out to an engagement party. He was all happy and well dressed.

“None of his friends know anything. He just vanished from Styx.”

Allan Jr was to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Tuesday on charges of disorderly conduct but Mr Bryant did not think his son was worried about the case.

“He’s not got a penny on him or any formal identification, nothing. He’s a loveable guy who gets on with everyone.”

Allan has two sisters, Amy, 17, and Sophie, 9.

Amy has been using social media to spread awareness to try to help find her brother.

With sub-zero temperatures over the past few nights, police are growing increasingly concerned for Allan’s welfare.

Inspector Derek Paxton, who is leading the search, said: “As time goes on we share the concern of Allan’s family over his wellbeing.

“We would ask that anyone who was at Styx Nightclub on Saturday night into Sunday morning, and remembers seeing Allan, contacts Police Scotland on 101, as they may have information that might assist us.

“Likewise I would also ask that any taxi drivers who picked up fares from Styx on Sunday morning also get in touch with us.

“Lastly, I would like to appeal to residents in the Caskieberran, Tanshall and Macedonia areas of Glenrothes to check their sheds and outbuildings as we continue to search for Allan.”

When last seen, Mr Bryant was dressed in a navy, white and grey striped T-shirt, dark jeans and grey leather shoes.

He is described as being 5ft 6in, of medium build with short brown hair and blue eyes and has tattoos on both arms.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
