The sister of missing Glenrothes man Allan Bryant has made an emotional appeal for his safe return.

Mr Bryant has not been seen since leaving Styx nightclub in the town in the early hours of Sunday.

His sister, Amy, has been using social media to help raise awareness, and posted: “On my knees praying for Allan’s safe return. Any information on his whereabouts call police on 101 or get in contact with me ASAP.”

Police revealed on Wednesday afternoon that the last positive sighting of Allan was around 2am on Sunday outside Styx on Caskieberran Road.

However, messages have been posted online reporting possible sightings and police say they need to speak to the people behind these to find out more.

Amy confirmed to The Courier this morning that she had not received any fresh information overnight.

She also posted: “Everything feels like a dream, people just don’t disappear! If anyone has any news on anything about Allan Bryant, get in touch.

“Never been so thankful of police doing their job, and all the friends and family that have been in contact this week. Praying for you Allan.”

Amy also thanked friends for helping to spread the word about his disappearance, adding: “Everyone has been so brilliant in helping with the searchthis is such a nightmare.”

A friend, Kaitlin Murphy, said on Twitter: “Thinking about you babe and praying on Allan’s safe return.”

A spokesman for Police Scotland Fife Division told The Courier that investigations continue.

The force was looking at the possibility of bringing in the Police Scotland helicopter and specialist search teams from other parts of the country.

With sub-zero temperatures for the past few nights, police are growing increasingly concerned for Mr Bryant’s welfare.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
