Fighting flood waters was the subject of a public display in Kings-kettle.
Members of the Kettle and District Flood Resilience Group were showcasing a number of flood defence systems in the Kettle Memorial Hall.
Paul Hendy, director of the Scottish Flood Forum, demonstrated various mechanisms, which could be utilised to help protect communities near the River Eden.
Kingskettle was badly affected by flooding in December. The banks of the River Eden burst, affecting several homes, while numerous roads around the village were closed.
Gillian Ogg from the Flood Resilience Group said residents were still haunted by the events of last winter.
“We were badly affected in December,” she said.
“It is not a nice experience we had a situation where a house was like a moat.”
Devices included in the demonstration ranged from the traditional to the modern.
