Man dies in accident on A92 in Fife

A man died in a road accident in Fife this morning.

The accident, involving one car, happened on the A92 between Letham and Parbroath crossroads junction.

Police confirmed that the man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene from his injuries.

The road, which was affected by snow at the time, was closed to allow recovery of the vehicle and for accident investigations to be carried out.

The road was expected to be closed for some time, with local diversions in place.

Lengthy tailbacks developed through Cupar as traffic was diverted on the A91.

Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling on that stretch of road this morning between 5.30 and 6.30am to contact them on 101.
