An Inverkeithing man and his partner have fled after three masked thugs robbed and attacked them in their home.
The 23-year-old man escaped serious injury but he and his 24-year-old partner were left shaken by the incident in Inverkeithing on Sunday night.
The couple were also threatened by the men in balaclavas who forced their way into the flat in Back O’ Yards at around 10.30pm and left with some of their possessions.
On Tuesday, the victims appeared to be moving out of the top-floor flat where the incident took place.
The man told The Courier: ”We’re too scared to go back to the house in case it happens again. This was our first place together and we were happy here.”
Detective Sergeant Chris Mill, who is leading the investigation, said: ”This was a very distressing incident for the couple, although thankfully the injuries are not too serious.”
He added: ”I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or any suspicious vehicles in or around this area during Sunday evening to contact us as soon as possible.”
Two of the men are described as being around 5ft 8in, stocky and wearing grey hooded tops. The other is around 6ft 3in and slim.
